FAQS - Frequently Asked Questions

  • Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can the students leave the house without your supervision, despite what they may tell you, none of our students are allowed out without you.

  • No, regardless of age, all students need to be accompanied to the meeting point, you can arrange for a cab for them in certain circumstances, but you do need to let the organiser know the situation (by text) you are responsible for the cab and advising the driver that he needs to make himself known to the organiser at the coach.

  • Please do not text and call the organiser to find out if the coach is in. Please make your way to the pick-up point at the time stated on the programme. If the organiser is advised that the group will be late, they will inform you as soon as they aare aware.

  • We will send you an email, to which you need to reply to accept or decline the booking as soon as possible. Please keep this safe as it includes the full programme including times of departure and arrival for the duration of the students visit.

  • Please check your programme, sent by email, this will include all arrival and departure times. For convenience, the arrival time of the first day is also included on the courtesy text message you will receive a few days before arrival.

  • Please advise us immediately, but at least 7 days before the arrival of the group, unless it is an emergency.

  • If a student has taken the wrong luggage, it will be changed in the morning, please make sure they bring the luggage back to the coach in the morning.

  • We are normally advised if the coach arrival time changes (normally due to traffic), we will advise you by WhatsApp as soon as we are made aware, so please do check your mobile phone regularly before leaving for the meeting point, if you hear nothing, please go to the meeting point at the time stated on the programme.

  • If you are worried about a student's health, please do not hesitate to contact the Local Organiser whatever the time of day or night.

  • Generally, our students are well behaved and respect the fact they are in someone else's home. Should you need any assistance, please inform the local organiser, not the teacher. We will be happy to take this up with the teacher and the students and resolve any issues.

  • Please place it in a bag or envelope with the date of the stay and your surname and the students name / group reference number on it . Please hand to the local organiser as soon as possible.

  • Payments are made on the Wednesday after the group arrive. For example, if a group arrives on the Monday, you will be paid by midnight on that Wednesday. Payments are made by direct bank / cash transfer.

  • The homestay students arrive weekly either on a Sunday or Monday evening and leave either on a Thursday or Friday morning depending on if it’s 3- or 4-night stay.

  • The minimum number of students you can accommodate is 2 and the maximum is 4 weekly. This will always be in one gender i.e. always girls or always boys. We try to accommodate host express wished to accommodate specific genders however, there are some occasion =, especially n peak season that we ask that you have some flexibility on genders.

  • Yes. Of course, you can and we would welcome that option too as the adult chaperones. coach drivers often also book the trip wanting to same immersive experience that the students receive in a typical English family environment. Hosting the adults is just as rewarding and with an increased payment too.

  • The accommodation on offer varies from home to home. The students are happy to share bedroom with the family or even a couple of students share one ensuite but NEVER a bed. Providing that the toom provided is spacious enough and ample for them to enjoy their environment and have a bedside table with a lamp / shelf to place their personal effects such as medication/ glasses and mobile phone on.

  • The bed can be a combination of solid single beds or bunk beds (that are suitable to take the weight of a 17-year-old and is secured appropriately). Depending on the size of the room and how many students you wish to accommodate of course you can also have a double or kings size bed and a single. No matter the combination, each student that you accommodate must be provided with a suitable individual bed.

  • We pride ourselves on the healthy and wholesome quality meals we aim to provide for Breakfast, lunches and Dinner. There is lots of assistance available within the wider group from a combination of experience and also professional expertise. There will be students visiting that have ailments and food allergies / intolerances. We aim to support you with menu planning prior to the student arrival.
